Why I'm here improvement my writing English?

This is a rhetorical question that the teacher made us in class. I'll try to answer it. In first place I'll explain why never in the past I worried for learn and improve my English language. When I was very young, a teenager to be precise, I resisted to follow the tendency from a colonialist country, which one invaded other countries with cultural industries such as cinema, music, TV series, junk food, even by war, etc, etc, etc. In a very act of resilience I was oppose to speak this language.

So, deeply influenced by my Marxism's teachers I refused to schedule English class. Hence I only pursued the obligatory credits to approve and finished my Mayor. Naively I thought that I will never need to speak in English in a future. Obviously I was very wrong, and I have to learn this language by myself: listening, reading and speaking newspapers, books, picking up a lot of words from TV series, movies and songs, then from journalist articles and journals. Because I started to work and I did not have time for attended English classes.

Nowadays, taking advantage from my stay on "Ciudad Universitaria" I decided  -since the last semester-, to study regularly and properly this language. I presented the admission exam and started the 7 level, I most say that is not been easily for me combine my thesis work and other classes to my English class. Mainly the last semester when I coursed many lectures and I took many other compromises such as write a paper and give a gender seminary. In addition to this,on March of the current year a very lovely friend died, that was very devastated (some other time, I will write about him).

Thus, on August 2019, I incorporated in the W005 group, with the hope to attend lessons in a better manner in comparison with the last semester when I missed so many classes. In fact, assisting every Monday, Wednesday and even Fridays, from 7 at 9 pm, is even funny. It feels good to learn new words, expressions and sentences structure, until eventually writing English properly.

  2. Congratulations on all your efforts in learning English. I know exactly what you mean. Out of ignorance, many teachers are capable of passing down their very personal fears and phobias to countless new generations of students.
I must confess that I would have hated the language if I hadn't had the chance to travel and learn that the English-speaking peoples and our people are not enemies. We can learn so much from each other that not choosing to do so would be a sheer waste!
I certainly hope this course opens a new path into questioning all those archetypes and old ideas and that your experience is a pleasant one (learning a foreign language doesn't need to be a torture) and that you may continue on your own successfully.

  4. All that hard work is going to pay off in the future, i thought myself that i wouldn't need English too, but then after trying to learn in school, I realized that sometimes you need to find your way, as picking up words in everywhere, but at the end if we wanted to do it properly a class like this it's what put us in the correct wat or at least what make us polish it.

  5. I am deeply sorry for your lost, I hope you are doing better now.
That's right, sometimes we refuse to learn something, just because we think we are right and that we don't need anything else; it's awesome that you realize that it is not like that, and every signle day we need more tools to face the future. Hope you are enjoying now this course!
