Especial photo

As soon I arrived at Barcelona to study my master’s degree, I felt in love on her red sunsets -just as the famous Serrat’s song says- in her great architecture, traditions and food. Barcelona is finally  Gaudí's city, a whole piece of art, you can find a bench or a headlamp on any street signed by the artist.
When I receive the letter informed me about the acceptation of scholarship to study an stance in the Autonomous University of Barcelona, I never imagine how happy will been living in this beautiful city. The day I traveled, I remember I had mixed emotions, on one hand I felt scared and stressed out and in the other hand I was very euphoric and I felt very lucky.
When I finally arrived to "El Prat" airport, it was Saturday night, the girl who was my landlady, kindly went for me to the airport. When she was driving to Barcelona's downtown, she surprised me when asked me what I used to eat for breakfast, I answered frankly: fruit such as watermelon or pineapple. She answered if there was nothing less exotic. In that moment, the penny dropped, those fruits are not easily to find, but if you get your hands on it, probably you can find them, but in a very expensive price. Then I said to her, “or apples or oranges and yogurt or cereal”, and we both laugh.
All up the question because she inform me in that moment, than on Sunday all the stores remain closed, except for the groceries served by Pakistanis. Spanish people have a lot of sense of Sunday rest as a right, something really admirable, considering how much working hours we labor in Mexico, and where the stores or malls never closed.
So, before arriving at the beautiful apartment where I lived, I visited the famous English Court to bought yogurt, a couple of apples and a tuna can. At the end It was not necessary, because my first Sunday in Barcelona I slept until one o’clock, and my landlady whom also was my roommate organized to go out to eaten together with another of our roommates (I share apartment with three girls, two Catalan and one more Brazilian).
That very cold and windy Sunday on February. at last I could see how the city looked, it was (is) simply beautiful, I stayed at the Exaimple, one of the most central and tourist neighborhoods of Barcelona. I greatly thanked one of my teachers for getting me such a great stay.
A couple of days after, the Brazilian girl, who was very hospitable, invited me a dinner with her boyfriend’s friends, I accepted and there I met a very good friend, he was (is) Graphic designer and a very good nature photographer, a taste that both sharing. He suggested opening a google drive with the title “Things to do while you’re here”, in which we enlist places for visiting in Barcelona –and its proximities–, we loved to photograph sunsets… on the beach, on the port, on the Montjuïc Castle or on Tibidabo (the highest peak of the Collserol mountain range in the municipality of Barcelona), including the National Museum of Art of Catalunya (MNAC) where I took this photo.
In that day we walk until we reach MNAC just minutes before sunset, we waited for it while we talked about several issues and we laugh. This picture is still one of my favorites, because off the company, because reminds me all the times when we used to laugh our head off, every time we saw each other, remembers me the visits to the Camp Nou, and our taste for the futbol soccer. But mostly this picture reminds me, that I can be able to smile again.
I found a very good friend, and we sharing many of our desires, disappointments and accompany each other in an intricate time of our lives for different reasons.  Every time I look at this picture, I remember when I lived in that beautiful city, and every time I see it, remembers me that nothing can be so badly, if you remember to smile.
